Forms Required - Nulirt batch list or NPHL Test Request Form (completed in entirety) must accompany the specimen to include the following information: symptoms and date of onset, pregnancy status, travel and vaccine history. Testing will not be performed without all required information.

Method: Chemiluminescent Immunoassay  
Availability: Daily; results in 24 hours  
Specimen: Blood  
Collection Device: 6.0 mL SST (Gold) tube or 5.0 mL EDTA (Lavender) tube  
Volume: 1.0 mL serum or plasma (Min: 0.5 mL)  
Storage/Transport: Refrigerate; if sample is not transported to lab the same day as collected aliquot the serum or plasma into a clean tube and refrigerate, labeling tube with "serum" or "plasma."  
Unacceptable: Heparinized plasma  
Specimen Stability: Ambient, < 12 hours; refrigerated, 72 hours; frozen, 1 year
Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles
